Y’all we’ve got some NEW NEW at shopjuliamarie.com *praise hands* and it starts with this #niceforwhat t-shirt. Shout Out, Aubrey Graham! To me, the Nice for What statement is SO powerful. If you have ever experienced a man trying to buy you or control you through money or his status (say, at work?) you get just how powerful this catchy summer tune is. Drake intentionally focused the music video on strong women who are successful in their careers.
As a woman, having my own and being capable to rise no matter the obstacle is why I will never play nice or give in to a man. Personally, I’ve experienced numerous men trying to control me to get what they want out of me through money. In one instance, I was in a 2 year relationship when my now ex suggested we live together once I moved in he broke up with me because “we would start arguing” meanwhile he had a date with another women scheduled that evening. Yes, the day I moved in he broke up with me and scheduled a date the same night he spent the night out and everything. When I informed him I would no longer be living there he was confused because he was “paying for everything”. He didn’t understand why I would move out if I was living rent free. Well, jackass that’s not how this works! He really thought if he paid my way I’d play house with him while he ran the streets. I was gone in 2 days.
So, as you see the #niceforwhat statement is POWERFUL AF to me!
On to my denim, you NEED them!!!! These are a slim boy cut, I bought a size down and love the way they fit but I’m also in the process of dropping 10lbs and wanted the baggier look too. I tried my normal size on and loved the way they looked but sized down so they’d fit nice when my weight is up and when it is down. These are already my everyday Summer jeans, you’ll be seeing way more of these.
