So, I’ve got a new watch and I’m totally in love! At first I didn’t think it was exactly my style, while I do wear a lot of casual looks they are always polished and may be adorned with gold or rhinestones. I’m a casual glam girly girl so I was unsure how a watch made of wood would fit into my armcandy game. Well, when I received my watch I was absolutely blown away by the quality. During my 15 years in retail I’ve spent a holiday behind the watch counter at Macy’s and worked directly for other brands that carried their own branded watches.

If I can tell you a secret most of those big brand watches that are so popular are actually licensed watches and all made by the same company in the same warehouse. For instance, Micheal Kors watches are actually made by Fossil and by the weight of the watches and the quality you’re solely paying for the name. Out of all of my watches my tortoise MK watch is the lowest quality. While my MK watch is technically a sassy plastic my good friend has a large gold MK watch and the weight of it felt like it was made of aluminum so I stand by their lower quality. You can tell the quality of a watch by it’s weight or maybe that’s just me.

Anywho, my new JORD Wood Watch has now upgraded my old MK tortoise watch.

Why?

It’s of a much higher quality, it’s heavier in weight, I’m assuming because the center isn’t hallow. While, I was nervous that a wood watch would be rough it is not, at. all. The edges are very smooth and the links move like any other watch. With the Zebrawood I’m still able to get that tortoise look so it goes with both blacks and browns and really POPS against black.

In addition, the shipping and packaging is AH-Mazing!!! It comes in a wood box, the lid has magnets to keep it secure and there is a small drawer underneath for your extra links, oil and wiping cloths. Ya’ll, there is A DRAWER!!! I’m so easy to please lol. Honestly, I placed the box on my mirrored side table next to my white vase with pink roses and it was so perfect so there’s a chance I’ll be using the box for decor reasons. 🙂 Also, the lid has an engraved “J” and my name is Julia so #done

All in all, I give the new JORD Wood Watch a recommend! It’s definitely a great gift for HIM! There are some really great men’s watch with big faces (the bigger, the better when it’s comes to watch faces as far as I’m concerned)
