I’ve been a fan of a dress over jeans every since I saw Carrie wearing her Juicy Couture looking tube dress over denim with slide on heels the day she had a movie date with Burger. Y’all know what I’m talking about. Well, 90’s and even early 2000’s fashions are currently back on trend which means so are dresses over denim.
My 2 tricks (& recommendations) to this look are 1) layer your dress over your skinniest jeans. This is to balance out the shapes to create a more flattering silhouette. 2) Pair your bottoms with a button up dress. This gives you the option to unbutton your dress to the top of your pants created a nice flow when you walk, etc. It also gives peaks to your silhouette creating a street style look. A button up dress also gives the look of a kimono which is also very of the moment. P.S. pairing this look with some sturdy heels also helps to elongate your frame helping to balance out the additional fabric of the dress and pants.
I do believe I’ll be trying this look again, maybe with a crisp white dress and denim shorts, thoughts?!?
